My Friend Lynda

I have this friend Lynda, Lynda Grace. You know Christopher’s mom. I love her so very much. She has my heart, and it is my determination to help and honor her in any way that I am able. The reason I have been so touched by this shinning light are many. The glaring sunbeam emitting from this individual is the empathy for others life conditions and her determination to help others to elevate and elevate she does. A survivor of breast cancer three times (now that's a number) and then there is Christopher. Christopher was born 27 years ago with severe infantile autism and today is performing in opera all due to the love, empathy, compassion and determination of his mom, my friend Lynda Grace. We share a practice together and that practice is Buddhism. We chant and then we chant some more. We know what we know and we take it on the road in our daily lives. We just aren’t rehearsal type of gals and we act on the fly. Well there is a bit of background on my friend Lynda Grace and I would like to share with you a gift she sent me for the holidays. She is a writer and she wrote me a gift that will last my whole life long. May each of our lives be filled with ecstatic love, joy, peace, harmony, empathy, kindness, compassion, elation, now and forever more. So be it. It is done:)

To my friend the farmer
In this day of computers
In this day of fast food
At this time of history
I am grateful I have a friend the farmer
I am lucky to have my friend
Because she shows me the importance of patience
She shows me the importance of a seed
She teaches me about the importance of freshness
About the clarity of good and clean
My friend keeps me aware of myself in this busy world
She keeps me aware of the importance of taking care of my health
I am becoming aware of eating the purist of vegetables
and putting aside a quick meal
She keeps me attentive to my own purity of self
She keeps me on point no matter how I confused I become
She is the mother I never had
to teach me to appreciate who I have become
To take care of myself and my son
She consistently reminds me who I am and what my purpose is.
She has taught me that what I put in my body depends on my thinking
What I subject myself to in this world creates a more positive or negative existence.
My true existence depends on my day and what importance I am to everything
And how I see the importance of everything.
She helps me know how important I am and what am to do while I am here.
She taught me to respect myself in taking care of me.
I have to thank my friend because I never knew I was important
To thank her for being a farmer and making sure that people have the
The better food to eat to grow healthy in this society that neglects itself
Thanks to her I feel I deserve to stop and smell the fresh vegetables and freshness of
Air and appreciate the soil that I walk on.
She has helped me understand the importance of the soil is just as important as me.
To thank her to know the importance of the solstest the time of year the earth changes
To grow more food and plants and create the harvest for tomorrow so that there is a tomorrow
I thank my farmer friend for fighting the society when they thought her as strange and different
I thank her for showing me that different is great
That different is special…………………… that different is precious
For showing me without being different we would die.
We would die from the lack of love of the difference ……..
just as there are different soil, flowers, and vegetables……
and difference in the parents we have grown from.
Thank you my friend because without my friend Linda I would never have known
What a good bowl of pure nourishing soup would taste like or feel like going down into my tummy.
Thank you Linda for never giving up on constantly showing the society how important it is to have the
Purity of earth so we can keep the purity of the soul
Thank you Linda ………………for being my friend………………..for being born the farmer

Loveya

The moral of the story is that we are connected one to another. Puzzle pieces fitting together along our life path. It is up to us to investigate, and explore just where and how those pieces fit together.
Be well and be kind to one another,
Linda :)
